Coming out of any relationship, or situation with a guy can always leave your emotions feelings a little heightened and sensitive. For me, I know every time it happens, I want to run back into my comfort zone and put my guard straight back up, even higher than the last time - but sometimes it's not always the best option. I sit here typing this, as if it's all in hindsight, I can assure you, it's not. These god awful situations with guys are becoming something of a regular occurrence of mine, and it never hurts any less. But there's always lessons to be learnt in these situations, as hard as they can be, here are some of the ones I've come to realise...

1. If he says he's not ready for commitment, just take his word. No begging or soppy speeches will make him change his mind - so save your breath and let go.

2. Letting go will probably, most definitely, make him change his mind. For some hilarious reason, guys love that "I don't give a f*ck" attitude. So go on your nights out, get dressed up. Sorry you? Oh you were so 24 hours ago...

3. He may not be ready now, but he probably will be 2 months down the line with some Instagram famous girl, with HD eyebrows, and the best arse in town. But whatever you do, do NOT compare yourself to her. I can tell you now, you're worth more than that.

4. Don't let him be the one to call the shots. So many times I fall into the habit of going along with everything the guy wants, in fear that if I don't he may like me less. This couldn't be further from the truth. Don't be afraid to be the one to ask for space, if you feel like you need it, chances are he does too.

5. What's meant to be, will be. You'll probably look back at this and laugh in the future.

So let's kiss goodbye to all of those situations and start a fresh.
