THE FITNESS PLAN






I've recently talked about fitness and its influence on my lifestyle and the new fad trend isn't about to disappear anytime soon. As much of a "gym bunny" I like to consider myself, we all have days, weeks, or even months (in my case) where we lack the motivation. So here's some tips on getting started... 

1. Setting Goals 

I always set myself goals. When people are like "WHAT?! You don't need to go to the gym, you're already skinny" it always makes me laugh. Some days I go to the gym to make myself feel better, having a boxing session with my personal trainer works wonders when I'm pissed off with a guy! There's other times when I go to work on things that bother me specifically. No Aoife, people probably won't notice that slight wobble in your arms when you lift them, but it doesn't hurt working on them. I'm taking that back already, it definitely does hurt and if it doesn't I'm doing it wrong! 

2. Take Inspiration & Get Motivation

Look out for inspiration everywhere. There's fitness inspo left right and centre on insta. Ask people around you for motivation and know the right people to speak to. Like I said I don't go to the gym to get skinny, I go to feel strong - physically and mentally. So I like chatting to people who understand this and encourage it. I have gym buddies who sometimes come along with me, the workout doesn't seem as hard when you're chatting away alongside it. 

3. Dress To Impress

Even if I'm just going to the gym, I love styling my outfit as if I would to go out. I find that as soon as I look better, I feel better and I'm more willing to want to go and work on my good streak. So Sweaty definitely helped me achieve this after they sent me a huge delivery filled with lots of gym treats. Now there's no excuses!
